Breath-taking. Does that cover it? What a beautiful shot. Not many people will get the chance for a shot like that.

The story behind "PumoRi from Everest"

Because of its proximity to Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Cho Oyu and other giants, beautifully shaped Pumo Ri (or Pumori) is often overlooked or underestimated. Still it is a dangerous climb and many accidents have happened to people that ‘just wanted to acclimatise for Everest’.

When climbing Everest in September 2004 I saw the more than 7000 meter high summit appear in the clouds. Shot from 7500 meter on Everest’s North ridge, with a Canon Eos3 with 70-200mm IS L lens, scanned later
