The story behind "Climbers on 17k ridge, Denali, Alaska"

One of the most impressive parts of Denali is the so-called 17k ridge as it averages at about 17000ft in altitude.
Here you can see some climbers coming up the first part of the ridge, shot from just below the so-called Washburn’s Thumb, a rock named in honour of Bradford Washburn, the pioneer of this route and great photographer.

In the back you can see nearby Mt Foraker, seldom climbed and even rarer is a successful ascent.
